Default What part is this?

Thinking of buying this truck for 300 bucks. It needs the floor pans replaced and the flex line for the brakes to the rear end replaced. This part is also fallen off the air intake and I cant remember what it is called to check prices of a replacement. Its the part with the vacuum line in the upper left corner of the picture.

If you can name that part for me I would appreciate it and what do you think about 300 for the truck. It runs real good and Im not scared to replace the floor pans and brake line myself.

Thanks

yeah that sounds right. The one that on it has fallen off because the left tab broke off.

You're also missing the heat riser hose that goes from the passenger exhaust manifold cover to the intake (to pipe hot air up for first thing on cold mornings.)

That's not really a big deal IMO; then again, I live in Louisiana. YMMV on it.

The air cleaner housing isn't turned right either; it needs to index about 15* CCW looking down from the top (it'll be obvious with the top off.)

Past that, you may want to draw an arrow to what you're talking about ... the vacuum diaphragm motor isn't visible from this angle (not saying it's not what's missing, just that I can't see where it is on my 1988 from that angle.)

As to what do I think - just make sure the FRAME is in good enough shape. Floor plan and brake line is duck soup, especially if you "cheat" and pull the bed first.

While the bed's off, I'd HIGHLY recommend replacing the fuel pump so you don't have to pull it again *grins*

This isnt the actual engine although I wish this one is alot more rust free. But I did check the frame over and it is solid.

Ah. That's the flapper valve for the heat riser; if you don't even have a heat riser connected, you can just take that off, plug that vacuum line, and tape over the holes left in the intake snorkel.

Without the riser, it doesn't really do anything anyway.

I'm not sure you can find a replacement without finding another air filter housing, though.
