Biggest tire size?
this is my 5th or 6th square body Dakota, but my 1st that is a 4wd.
in order of ownership;
90 longbed 3.9 /auto. owned about 5 years then when my kid was born, I had no room for me, my wife and a car seat, went back to a full size.
89 longbed bought as a fix and flip, ended up not worth my time as I sold for only $50 more than what I had in it and it cost me my job at the time, over a couple of used tires out of the scrap pile.... (dont ask, it still pisses me off 15 years later)
94 reg cab shortbed, also 3.9/auto. owned for just over a year, went thru 2 trannys in 14k miles, 1st one died 3 days after purchase all of a sudden, had been driving seemingly "perfect" with no slips or issues right up until planetarys in OD grenaded.... I had gone back to school in my 40s, this one got me thru my 2nd year of school. wanted to replace trans again and hand it down to my son but sold because he was not interested because it was 2wd. 2nd trans died same way, after tranny cooler plugged up. sold to buddy who is a tranny guy at a Dodge dealer... funny, he had been the one to rebuild the trans the 1st time for me LOL
93 club cab 318, bought with bad trans, wound up converting to a stick.... my favorite so far, destroyed in a wreck after I had it 4+ years and 72K miles, only 202K on it when it was junked and still ran strong--best MPG of em all, too. even though this one was 2wd my son strangely hounded me to sell it to him right up until I was in that wreck. 318 and 5 speed made it really fun to drive.
92 318 club cab... still have, bought week after wreck, alive and well, it's OK, but it's "not my '93" if that makes sense.... my wife's temporary daily driver til I get the engine done in the Durango-- this 92 went to Branson MO 3 days after I bought it, 8 hour drive from here, didn't miss a beat. It has also been to Cleveland twice. (about 5-1/2 hours the "other way") solid body except for dogleg on driver fender. looking in JY for one the same color so I don't have to paint.... 2 tone light and dark brown, the dark is almost a "root beer" brown.... AC even works! we have put almost 20K miles on this one already (and counting) in less than 8 months....
and my latest, 96 club cab, 318 4X4 Like the 93 it was bought with a bad tranny. This one will get its automatic rebuilt, though I'd rather drive a stick 98% of the time. (wife was pissed when she discovered that I'd swapped the 93 over from auto to stick) besides I still have my Wrangler with a 5 speed
Have been hurt 2x in my life where I was medically not allowed to drive due to having a stick instead of auto, I'm almost 50 and my right shoulder is playing games with me, I may be headed to 3rd instance of not being allowed to drive stick which is irritating, since I love driving such-equipped vehicles so much...
Trans and T case in bed, cab and bed very straight and clean, no rust, only rust on front fender doglegs.... will be looking for a pair (no China repops!) once I get the trans back into this one. got any clean, rust free, straight white ones collecting dust in the shed, anyone?
