Default Intake finished

Pretty happy with how this turned out so I figured I'd share some pics. Did the kegger mod and powder coated the intake and painted the throttle body and fuel rails. Silver vain powder coat done by me in my garage

Wow, like a piece of art; it looks terrific! What'd you clean it up with?

Also, I notice it looks like you have stainless bolts holding the water neck on. I did the same thing on mine but today I went to pull off the water neck and those bolts are turning hard. I'm soaking them w/penetrating oil tonight, but they're on the verge of snapping. Dissimilar metals, the presence of moisture, or too much Loctite, I'm not sure, but beware. Mine have been on only about a year.

Thanks.
I cleaned it with break cleaner then I sand blasted it. It took up my entire table top blast cabinet so I had to use my pressure pot one outside. No problems here getting the water neck off I usually use stainless on everything I put back together. I think the ones before were in there for at least 3 or 4 years when I did the thermostat last. no loctite on those ones though I just used lock washers. I'll post some more pics after I get it on tomorrow hopefully. Everything thing else on the engine is also powder coated from when I changed out the timing chain.

I got everything back together yesterday. I definitely seems to perform better above 3000 RPM no real difference/loss in the lower RPM range either. I'd say it's worth the work. From what I've read there's really not much of a horse power gain but you get a much better hp/torque curve out of this mod.

Very Nice indeed....I cleaned mine in a lysol bath, primed and painted with aluminum VHT....if it doesn't last, powder coat is the next attempt. Although I'll probably farm it out.

I use a lot of VHT on all the stuff I don't powder coat. Really good stuff. I always go over the top coat with there clear coat also with really good results. They also make a matte finish clear coat in there wheel paint line ( I've only had luck finding that one at AutoZone locally here) it looks great over new bare aluminum stuff like alternators. Anyways. Everything I've painted with that stuff has held up. I did a bunch of suspension parts on a snowmobile about 3 years ago still looks great.
