Default No WONDER my wheels rub!

I have here a picture of a Bendix rotor (left) and a Raybestos rotor (right) for my 1988 Dakota.

For some reason, the left one ... has my wheels rubbing.

Best I can figure is that the left one is for the 14" wheel variant; I don't know for sure, though.

<mode=Hank Hill> I'll tell you hwat, I won't order any more of them there Bendix rotors! </mode>

looks like maybe one was mis boxed? I think Bendix was the OEM supplier back in the day.

Actually, I had put two of the Bendix units on about a month ago; the Raybestos were replacements to get my good tires and the Jeep wheels back on the truck.

I dunno about misboxed; I'm just reporting what I found.

What Parts did you order, because when I look at Rock Auto, the nominal height of both the Ray and Bendix is the same:

http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....sn=486&jsn=486

Both 4.4"

I ordered Bendix 141415 - and I'd never order from the "Economy" line; the Daily Driver is a bit more expensive, but I do put around 40,000 miles/year on my truck (!!)

The 141415 was a Closeout part; now we know why.

It could also be that the 141415 was for the 14" wheel; it doesn't say for the PRT1415 you linked to.

(Pulling up the Bendix catalog at http://www.bendix-brakes.com/pdfs/2017_Catalog.pdf shows on page 127 the PRT1415 being a 1987-1988 14" wheel only part; I've got 15" wheels, and that calls for the PRT1498 . The PRT1498 is 290mm diameter as opposed to the PRT1415 271.5mm; that also jives with the Bendix units that didn't fit being a small bit smaller in diameter than the Raybestos.)

Easily a bad part number for my truck.

Doesn't matter, won't be ordering THOSE any time again; the Bendix were ordered only because they were cheaper with shipping than the Raybestos.

(I idly wonder if Brembo has ever sold rotors for our trucks ... best rotors I've had on the Cougar were some Brembo factory rotors. Well, factory for a 1993+; I had converted to 1993+ spindles on the Cougar so I could run the Mustang PBR dual piston front calipers. Now THAT car will almost rip the concrete up when you say "WHOA NELLIE!!!" )
