Hey there,

Has anyone ever swapped a 2.5 4 banger for a 2.4 (Van/Ptcruiser) Engine in a dakota?
Why? Well better MPG, Cruising and just a better curve.

the bellhousing seems to line up pretty well..as far as i know i need to drill out one hole and i want to place over the wiring from a van.
But anyone has any experience with the block casting, does it have the same engine mounting holes as a 2.5 engine?

Any advice is always accepted!

(Why i dont swap a V8/V6? Mpg, and the yearly checks..i'm from europe hard to get those engine and get a bigger engine on paper.)

Seems like someone was working on this swap before. I found these two threads that have some discussion on 4 cylinder swaps:
