Default Convertible Windshield Trim

Can anyone tell me how to remove the metal windshield header trim from a convertible. It's where the top meets the body. It's held captive by a clip at each end. Need to take them off without damaging them. End clips appear to have to be bent upward to release. Looking for some knowledge.
Thanks.

Figured it out. End caps slide off of the header with a little persuasion. Then the main trim piece can be gently persuaded to slide along the retainer clips until it's off of the header.

You got it. Be careful with that rubber seal, it rips easily where its thin, and you'll never find another without extreme good luck.

Thanks Ragged. You're right! I just got it removed. Managed to keep it all in good shape. Trim is a bit rusty. A little sanding and some satin lblack and we will be as good as new. You're right about the seals. Don't think there's many left on the planet!

Convertible Dakota parts are like dinosaur eggs, hard to find and very fragile.

My trim strip is rusty too. When I have an opportunity I'm going to try an electrolysis bath to remove the rust. That way I won't have to scratch the heck out of it trying to get all the rust off. It's not rusted through or anything, but a lot of surface rust.
