Adjusting the PRNDL indicator
I need to tighten up the play that exists in the indicator for the shift for my 93 Dakota Sport. I can shift between the various positions and have it appear to be in R when it is actually in N, or appear to be in P and actually be in R, etc.
I've seen some notes at another forums that apparently this can be resolved by using an adjusting screw. Unfortunately the pictures that were in the message that I saw discussing it were or are not available and therefore I'm flying blind a bit in trying to figure out how to find the right place to start trying to adjust in this area.
If the actual adjustment that needs to be done would be for the shift linkage itself, also willing to address, but could use some tips on what needs to be fixed.
Thanks much for any assistance you can lend.

And attached is a PDF with instructions; it starts as the last line of the first page, and continues to the second page.
(Cribbed from the 1995 Dakota FSM; same procedure for my 1988, and I'd presume for 1987-1996 since they all use the same PRNDL unit for automatics.)
