Default Replacement Thermostat Housing

The Four Seasons thermostat housing (a casting, not a stamping welded together) is back available at RockAuto:

Is there anything to be gained by using a cast housing? I've replaced mine with the Dorman housing and it seals well and works good.

For me, it was better sealing; the stamping can warp easily with age.

I'm going to mis-quote a local ad:

"If you've got one that works and seals properly, use it! If however you're looking for a new one, here's the casting." *grins*

Replacement will take two new bolts about 1/4" longer to properly seal, too.

Torque convertor also looks different. Having a hard time getting it seated as well but that might just be me.

The new transmission TC has a square weight on it. The new transmission has 92/93 date marks.

The old transmission has no extra square and is marked with 94 date.
