flickering headlights,no dashlights or interior light
Working on my 95 dakota, lights started flickering, so I replaced the switch...they stopped flickering 99% when I turned the blower off for the heater...then the dahlights went out...NO blown fuses..there are no shorts in the system. I'm afraid to run the truck to work and back as it is dark when I go to work and when I get off work and I dont want the headlights just quit working while driving...can someone please help?
I would first check the grounds inside the dash, behind the instrument cluster.
The 1995 FSM is available as a download from links in the FAQ here; but to make it a bit easier, I've attached both the interior lighting and the instrument cluster sections of the wiring section of the FSM as PDFs.

Thanks Ralph...I took the dash completely out...I didnt see any bad spots in the ground circut..there is a culmination of grounds in this truck which connect to a hard ground between the steering column and the ashtray...those were good and snug..i traced the grounds back and found no issues...this model truck doesnt seem to have a ctm or bcm...so I am thinking maybe they routed everything thru the pcm?...just a guess...
No, they didn't route everything through the PCM, as is obvious from the wiring diagrams I attached. And it's time, due to age, to remove and reconnect the grounds; they will oxidate over time and fail.
They don't even have to be loose for that to happen.
Also, if you've removed the dash (Dash or instrument cluster? Those are different items!) then I'll lay dollars to donuts that you've missed a ground.
If you meant "Instrument Cluster" when you said "Dash", then again, remove it, triple check the connections on the printed wire board, use some contact cleaner before reassembling, and be sure to remove/replace all the grounds to get the oxidation off.
