High pitched whine coming from front driver side wheel well area.

Could be a front wheel bearing going bad.
Get some where that you can steer left to load the right bearing
and steer right to load the left bearing and of course listen for any sound
that it makes.
Had the same type of sound on the wife's Durango, a while back, even though it
sounded like it was coming from the right side, turned out to be the
left front wheel bearing.

Some ideas of what I would do.
Check the tire out, I'd probably go to a tire shop for that.
Feel for hot spots after a short ride getting it up to speed so it whines.
Take the wheel off while its still warm and look for wear and anything that seems unusual. Feel carefully for hot spots.

what would the presence of any hot spots indicate?

the rotating parts should heat uniformly, hot spots would indicate uneven heating which should point to a source issue
