Starts & Runs Than Starts & dies 10 min later.
Hello,
I have a 96 Dodge Dakota. My dakota will start and run fine but if I shut if off and try starting it up again shortly after it will start but engine won’t stay running unless I keep giving it gas. As soon as I let my foot off the gas it will die. If I wait several hours / next day it will start up again.
New battery : 12.4v before starting 14.3v while running. Can hear the fuel pump kick on even when it ends up dieing. I think it could be the fuel pump but not sure why it starts and than later won’t stay running unless I keep giving it gas. Hope to borrow a scanner this weekend to check codes (no engine light) but would still appreciate any suggestions. Also pics would definitely be a plus as I am no mechanic… just broke… ha!
