if you pay attention the font on the odometer numbers is different between cable drive and electronic speedo's... I have had 92, 93, 94 and 96 Dakotas along with an 89 and a 90.
I would think the change from a 85MPH (early) or 125MPH (later) cable driven speedo to a 110MPH electronic speed would be a bit more noticeable, myself, rather than the font.

You don't look at the highest number on the speedo face, but you notice the font difference?
