Default 1994 Dakota Brake Light Help

i just bought a 1994 Dakota and brake lights are not working. I looked under dash and found two wires that run back to brake lights not connected. I wanted to see if someone had wiring diagram or could tell me. The taillights work but not brake lights.

Does the brake light switch have wires going to it? Mabey the connector came unplugged or the wires got ripped out of it. Check out the factory service manuals in the stickied thread.

The 1995 FSM in the stickied thread should be close enough to use for this; but since we don't have the 1994, I'd also recommend grabbing one from Ebay (used) or some place like RockAuto (the DVD/CD copy as a PDF is like $23 plus shipping; hard to beat.)

Several places. Dealership if nothing else.

Which connector did it fall out of?

Was that connector on the right side of the instrument panel?

Since you have a 1995, download the FSM from the stickied post at the top of the forum; in that zip file, extract all of it; then open up section 8W and go to page 8W-90-12 and 8W-90-15 and see if that's where it was.

Still, the dealership may be the best choice; I find them at DigiKey, but doubt you want 1,000 of them ...

Addendum: If you download the 94-96 parts list, and go to page 8-1710, I THINK those are #10 on that page. Not sure, though. But that'd be a good test; take the old one, have the service counter people match it, and buy them at the dealership.

I looked and did not see connector on picture. I attached picture. There are two wires going in and four wires coming out of it. I called dealer today but guy could not find them. What is part # on digikey? It may help me find them somewhere else.
