Default Dakota brake lights not working

My 1991 dodge Dakota brake lights are not working. Left and right blinkers work, hazards work and running lights work. #5 fuse is good and brake switch was changed. Where do I go next?

You may have put a bad switch in. It sounds like you've checked everything else it could be. Recheck the wires to the switch and plug.

Ok there is 6 wires on that plug. How many should have 12volts?

Two are for the cruise control.

The other four form a pair of switches; one will have continuity when there's no pedal, the other will have continuity when there IS pedal.

Easier I think to check that there's 12V switched going into the clock spring.

Do you have a center high mount stop light on the tailgate? If so, is it also dead, or does it light up?

No 3rd brake light. But I got it working. Of the 6 wires on the brake switch harness female house side. 3 on one side and 3 on other side of plug I had 2 that had 12v and one in middle didn’t so I tried jumpering 12v to the opposite side of the one that was dead and my door buzzer started working which I didn’t even notice it wasn’t working which it normally does. So I removed jumper and it remained working. I thing plugged brake switch back in and brake lights working again. Idk why that worked but ima take the win lol. All lights currently working.

I've seen connections shift and jiggling them (<---fancy technical term) will shift them back. Age and wear will do that. It may happen again next week or never happen as long as yo own the truck. Now, if the buzzer quits working, you know why. It's what makes an old car or truck assume "quirks". It's also why some well used examples have a personality.
