I posted a long time ago about the overdrive in my 91 dakota failing, well I got driving it again and while it wasn't shifting into overdrive I noticed cruise control had stopped working. Eventually overdrive decided to work, it shifted, and cruise control started to work again.
I'm not sure if the two are connected but there might be something that's causing them to fail together. Anyone know what relays/wiring/switches the overdrive power and cruise control have in common?

 

It sounds like the ECU was confused as to what speed you were travelling; I'd check the VSS at the transmission.

Both the cruise and the OD are controlled by the ECU.
