Headlights wont turn on. HELP. Experienced Mechanic
I own a 1994 Dakota, 4x2, with a 5.2L. Automatic.
All of a sudden my headlights will not turn on. When i pull the switch to engage the headlights my ABS light comes on and my RPM's do not work. I just replaced the headlight switch, and still the same problem. When i turn the **** to the left my interior lights come on like normal. When i push the **** in, to the off position the ABS goes off and the RPM's work again. i have brake lights. Headlights are second position on the pull lever. The first positon is running lights, theses do not work either. I have checked my fuses interior and exterior. Switched my headlight fuse with the same 50 AMP blower motor fuse, and still nothing.

I would guess the ground inside the dash has gone bad, probably just oxidation or worked loose over the years.
The 1994 FSM isn't here, but the 1995 should be close enough; download that from the link in the FAQ (about 40% down), and check the wiring around the headlight switch.
Then find a 1994 FSM to obtain for your very own (under $40 at Bishko for the CD with a PDF; whatever they can get over on Ebay for a used paper copy.)
