Fuel injector electrical connector

Can someone tell me how to release the connectors from the fuel injectors? I see a thin wire on the side, pull that outward maybe? I don't want to break anything plus I guess I'm not that smart.

Don't know what you have but this is for an '88 w/3.9 V6...…

Which motor, which year would be helpful since there's been a few different injector designs since the carb'ed 1987s.
