Default Cruise Control Won't Turn Off

Recently bought a 1992 Dakota LE w/ 5.2. Discovered that the cruise control doesn't always want to disengage when the brake is applied or the rocker switched to off. Have had to kill the engine, pull over, and wait. Sometimes for 5+ mins, as starting it again would pin the throttle. Is there a relay or mechanism that might be sticking? What can I check?

Just realized there is a section in the service manual.
looking at it I'm guessing the servo is jamming up. Can it be lubricated or serviced?

I'd check the throttle linkage from the servo first; that may be binding.
