One more clue...The same thing happened the following night and my friend was there at the time. He tried tapping the throttle body again but this time nothing happened. Since he wasn't the one who made the original diagnosis, he decided to go back to the basics... FIRE or GAS. He pulled the wire out of the spark coil and there was no fire. So I went to O'Reilly's in the morning and bought a new coil and installed it right away and it fired right up. I was overjoyed (prematurely) I was out and about all day and the symptom had gone away (except for two times} but it was significantly better As it turns out it stalled and wouldn't restart right in front of my friends home. I had gone there to give him the good news about the coil. He borrowed a pair of side cutters and banged on the throttle body and it started up quickly. So I'm going to let him rebuild the throttle body on Friday when I get my check.

Don't feel bad Tom, I thought I had a carburetor. After all it said in plain letters on the side "Holley"

More shall be revealed. Thanks, Y'all.
