Nagging issue #436
My windshield wipers slap the pillar and cowling! they go way too far on both sides of the throw. It seems like it started after I replaced the bushing on the motor arm to get them back working last summer right after I bought the truck..
Is there something I didn't do right there, or is that the way they wipe?

If I remember correctly I found a YT vid that showed me the correct layout of the linkage to reinstall them when I replaced the bushings.
Mine do not slap the pillar or cowling. Could be how you have the arms on the pivot. If the linkage is installed correctly, remove the wiper arms and mark the pivot at the furthest extent of its travel with a sharpie you can see easily and place the wiper arm on it so it doesn't over travel.

"replaced THE bushing".
You know there's four bushings total, right? And if the ones at the driver's side pivot go bad, they'll overtravel due to the slop in the arm.
Also, if you used the Dorman bushings, they may have already failed. (May have failed if the Mopar bushings, for that matter!)
Did you grease the bushing when you replaced it? Or put it on dry?
I'd be looking at the bushings - all four! - again.

Thanks
I replaced all 4 a couple of years ago on my 96 when they totally quit, this past summer they started slapping again..... I just deal with it for now. I do have more NOS Mopar bushings on hand for it for when I get around to looking into it again.
