Default Vibration and noice coming from rear end

Yesterday night I took my 88 Dakota v6 4x4 out for a drive and on the way back I heard the sound. It sounds like a clicking, but the u-joint is less then a year old in the back, and the front seems good. There’s no play in the driveshaft in the back, but in the front, the small piece that goes into the transfer case does wiggle a little bit. I’m not sure if that’s normal, but where the noise is coming from, I can’t see anything wrong. When the truck is in 4wd the vibration is less, and I can’t hear the clicking noise either. I had the diff cover off a few months ago to replace the backing plates, and there was no shavings in the fluid; everything looked good. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

for what the best U joints cost (I never use the "cheap" ones) I never understood why so many people would only do 1 or the other when they have the shaft out. CHANGE EM BOTH!
