Default Two things

1. I may have over tightened the bolt on the computer connector as I cannot get it to back out. I expect the nut portion of the join is no longer being held still by the plastic. Any ideas/experience on solving this?

2. How do you tell what computer you need when there is no marking on yours? I had it off the fender and looked it over the tag is just white like the printing on it wore off.

1) May have to remove the housing and grab the back with a pair of vise grip style pliers.

2) I'd look in the parts listing from here, and check the part numbers there.

I assume that means removing the Torx screws?

Edit- Anyone else having website issues? All day it has been hard to get access, like the server was down. Just now I couldn't reply with a quote. My bookmark doesn't work and the site is wonky even while logged in. ?

Yep, removing the torx screws. Not sure what size they are, or if you can even pull the back off with the bolt through. But it's what I would try next.

And yes.

OK that did not work for me. I have never taken one apart so I do not know how well the unit is attached inside the backing. I saw no screws threw it. Blew it out with canned air. but I didn't go further. It is probably pressure fit to the housing. It is my only reliable rig so I can't take the chance of it being down.
I got the dealer parts guy on the line and he gave me the "latest" number and the OE one which told me which of the two numbers I got off the parts manual was right and that showed me how to read it If i decide to pull that trigger I will probably have to eat the core fee as I expect I will have to destroy this one to get it off.
