Default Need help identifying electrical connector

I bought this Dakota from the police impound auction. I bought a new battery for it and I've got crank and spark but it won't turn over. I noticed this electrical connecter on the left side of the carb and its not connected to anything. I can't find anything to connect it to within its reach. It has 2 wires, 1 black and on light green with red stripe. Please help. It's a 3.9l MT

1) That's not a carb, it's a throttle body injection body.

2) What year is it? Shocking - the wiring changes a smidge from 1987 to 1996 ... I PRESUME it's a 1988 to 1991, but can't ID past that from those pictures.

When you say "I have crank" but you also say "but it won't turn over", which is it?

Or are you confusing "it won't turn over" for "it won't start"?

Hint: When people used to hand turn over motors, they used a crank ...

Presuming it's turning over and cranking, I'm betting it won't start.

Have you checked that it has fuel?

Have you checked for fire?

Do you have a copy of the 1989 1990 factory service manual? (BTW - I don't see that connector anywhere in it.)

Could you trace it back to where it comes from? I've got a couple of engine harnesses I can look through to try and find it.

What fuel pressure, what fuel flow? How old is the fuel filter on the inside of the frame, driver's side, under the driver's butt?

Do your injectors open? I'd NOID the injectors to make sure the ECU is firing them.
