I’m getting ready to install new heads. I cleaned up the rocker arm brackets and pedestals/pivots. The new rocker arms don’t have oil guides in them. Did I get the wrong rocker arms?
I cannot see a difference. I have also never worked on a head.
I looked it is chapter 9 page 87 in the 95 FSM which is in the FAQ sticky. They do not have a blowup of the rocker, but the picture they do have looks like both of yours
Anyway hopefully someone who knows more will stop by.
Above and below the square hole on the original rocker arm are two lines. The pivot sits in the hole and has matching oil guide lines. The new rocker arm doesn’t have those. I checked several auto parts web sites and can’t find any replacement rocker arms with oil guides. Hummmm….
