Default 92 5.2L ECM compatibility questions

I need a new ECM, I fried my old one. Curious about compatibility and other vehicles that use the same computer. My OEM is b56027141, can I use a computer with a different OEM? I know some of the other 5.2s carry a different number. What other vehicles have this computer on them? I'm searching scrapyards and would like to know my options. I know they have some online but I'm hesitant, because of price and I don't know a good brand.

I don’t know if anyone ever made that computer except for OEM. But what do I know? I replied to you on the other thread about a joint in FL.

There are two Cardone ECM's on this RA page for 92 5.2 https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...computer),2896
IDK any compatible models. Possibly a Ram pickup or a van with the same 5.2 motor?

The ECM on my 95 didn’t have a part number. I had the dealer look it up using the VIN. They found the part# but couldn’t get one. If they could have gotten one the price would have a little over $800. Anyway, I would think the dealer could tell you if any other ECU is compatible. I got a Cardone rebuilt ECM through Rockauto for about $300.

The number should be on the PCM/ECM. Here is my original PCM from my '93 Dakota. Hard to read the number from the photo but I was able to make it out in-person. 56027848
