Default Np2500 transmission mount bracket bolt thread pitch

Hey all,

Putting my truck back together and noticed that the bolts for transmission mount bracket on a manual transmission are fitting loosely, 3/8” bolt on one side, 3/8” bolt slides in and out on other side. So one side’s hole is obviously slightly bigger than the other. Maybe 10mm on one side and 11mm bolt on other???

Truck is an 4x4 88 Dakota a535 transmission

thanks.

Sounds like someone stripped them and re-threaded the holes. Can you get one of those little plastic sizer they use in fastener stores? Or buy a few small bolts of the sizes closest to test.

okay one hole is a 7/16 x 1 1/4”, the other one was probably 7/16 x 1 1/4” too. It’s just that it was tapped with 12mm metric. Metric being more common set.

IDK about the 88's but on my 94 Chrysler used both metric and SAE on it.
