Default Stand alone ECU or Carb swap ?

I put a 360 out of a 200ish ram in my 93 dakota that was originally a 318 an currently using the original 318 computer, I'm now wanting to install a bigger cam but am limited on options with the OBD1 computer. I've been looking into doing a Carb swap an also looked at stand alone systems like megasquirt or holley terminator setup but can't seem to decide what route to go. I'm sure others have dealt with this an would like to know what you ended up doing, why , how do you like it an if you'd go back an change anything if you had the chance to ?
