Default External Voltage Regulator

I have a 1992 dodge dakota with the 3.9 v6 with 4wd and the voltage regulator has stopped working, so I was thinking about installing an external voltage regulator but I am not sure how to do so, I seen a post about someone with a 98 dakota with the same deal but they had a diagram of sorts I thought but can't find it now, I tried google and found a video for a 2000 1500 ram but the guy has a different alternator than I do. Anyone know exactly how to wire it in?
