Successful ECU delete?
As our Gen 1 trucks keep getting older, the stock of good PCMs (ECUs), particularly for OBD1 Dakotas, keeps diminishing. I am beginning to wonder if anyone here has done an PCM delete? Those with the V8s or V6s should be able to use an earlier Chrysler distributor/ignition module and replace the intake with a carburetor one (or spend the money for aftermarket fuel injection). There are already plenty of people switching to a standalone alternator regulator so that bridge has been crossed. Pretty sure the rear style anti lock brakes are stand alone electronics so that would only leave the dash instruments and a nice custom billet dash would fix that. Has anyone here gone down that path and able to enlighten the rest of us? I'm sure there are a lot of smaller tweaks I'm not thinking/aware of.

IDK about ECU delete but if you search "carburettor conversion"there are a lot of results.
A few years ago someone on here rebuilt their truck and did it with carb and had to modify the front end to accommodate the radiator they used. I do not recall if the used a stock motor or bought a built one. I can't recall their handle.
