Has anyone put a 383 or 440 in a dakota?do u have to modify the fire wall to fit one in?? I have 3.9L in my truck now and i hate it, theres just not enough power, but i was thinking of putting a 383 or 440 in it, because i have a rebuilt 383 just sitting and i also have a 440 sitting. i found a place that sells mounts for the 383 and the 440 http://engine-swaps.com/frames/frame_Truck_Dakota.html

 

who cares if you have to customize the firewall, dont see why you would anyway but who knows. if you do it right no one will know unless you tell them. then if somebody else asks the same question later you can tell them how to do it. i would do it if i had that motor, but ive got a 360 rt motor waiting for mine!
