Default tranny question

the plate on the side of my tranny says that it is a New Process A535. This tranny is not even an option in the Haynes manual for these trucks. Its a 2.5 4banger with a 5-speed. What does all this mean!!? Any help is great. Thanks.

ATF+3 is the OEM type, but ATF+4 is better and is only available from the dealer. ATF+3 is available at most parts stores.

Thats what I was thinking. Probably not. It will either take gear oil or a standard grade of engine oil. Look in the owners manual, call the dealer, or there should be a tag on the side of the trans telling you what to put i it.

If it is a A535 or also called a NP2500 it will have a parting line in the middle of the tranny also will have a inspection cover on top of the tranny fwd of the gear shifter. Go to Mack transmissions online and they have pictures. also its suppose to have 10-30 engine oil in the tranny.
