I have a 1993 Dakota 318 and plan to make a home brew cold air intake. Obviously a 93 air cleaner won't work, so what other years do? I believe a 97 dakota will, but are there others? Are the other years air cleaners the same as the 97's?

I think that if you located a 97->up air cleaner for the 3.9 or 5.2/5.9 it'll bolt onto the throttle body and then you can route the piping from there.

 

97 & up, I'll start by checking out the junk yards. I read somewhere on here that a 97 would work? I notice some air intake hat / bases are square, I know for certain the 97 isnt? As you can see I'm not too familiar with Dakota's 97 & up.. Thanks for your time!!

 

O.k., I'm officially the proud owner of a 2001 air intake (base & hat) that came off a 360 but is suppose to work on the 318's.. Anyhow, I never got an answer to my previous question, but when I get this air intake in the mail I'll know. It didn't set me back too much $ because I got it off ebay for $40 including shipping that wasn't too bad. I contacted two junk yards and they wouldn't sell the air intake alone but the entire system. I couldn't find it for any less then $125, the dodge dealership will sell the air intake alone for $100. Anyhow, I'm happy with $40.. Thanks for the help guys..
