Default 93 v6 isn't fast enough

well as you can tell by my login i like to beat ricers but yesterday i raced a honda accord and he got about half a car ahead of me. admitedly he had a v6 and it sounded pretty well done up but i'm still not pleased.I have a 93 v6 with the 5-speed, all iv'e done so far is take out the cat and put on an open element 10in edelbrock air cleaner with a 2.25 in k&n. It sounds cool for a v-6 and i peels out with ease but it's lacking at the top. i'm woried about what all i can do before i screw stuff up. my last car (explorer) had a v6 and i put intake on it, hollowed out the cat and had a 50 series flowmaster dumped. it was fast but could bairly start and the check engine light came on and off. to get it to run right i had to make it stock again except the cat and muffler (it had to have the tail pipe). what can i do to get it some more power? i've heard that the 5.2 throttle bodies can be put on, does that help much if i were to bore out the intake manifold to match? I'de like to put on a flowmaster super 40, can i dump it or does it need a full length tail pipe? if i get the mopar computer will i be able to open up the exhaust more? after all this is it worth it or would the stock 318 still be faster? with all these mods i still want it to run right so if you have any experiance with the negative effects of certian mods please share them. Any advice is grreatly appreciated! oh and by the way i'm a college student so it's gotta be pretty cheep. thanks

the 318 would be better to get insted of putting money into that V6, plus its hard to find performance parts for the 3.9

Not Fast enough. Tell me about it. A stock 360 will liven it up, but I still want mine faster too. Like Dakota Brad said. Performance parts for the V6 are hard to find. For the price you would pay to play, you coud go with a V8 and some upgrades if you find the right deal.

If you want to go with an upgrade, they do make a supercharger for the 3.9 v6. I have a thread posted about it in the 2nd gen titled supercharger for v6 Dakota. Check it out if you want.

Look around and do some research. You can probably get the same HP from other bolt ons (headers, exhaust, heads cam, Blah Blah Blah) for cheaper than a supercharger.
