Default GEN 1 cold air intake?

I have a 93 Dakota 318 and was wondering IF anyone had a cold are setup and what you did to obtain it? I recently purchased a 2001 air intake hat and base in hopes to figure something out? I hope the intake fits??? Anyhow, IF it fits I'll then take it to the muffler guy and have him bend a stainless pipe to reach the desired location, wherever that might be? If you guys & gals could help I'd appreciate it.

I looked for a cold air intake for my 94 v6 for over a month and the only thing I could find for mine was a simple K and N air intake. That was as close as I could get. It fits both the v6 and v8. And I mean I checked everywhere. If there is a cold air for a carb style throttle body then I dont know how I missed it.

Well, I didn't find a cold air unit either. I hope the 2001 intake hat and base will fit because this will solve my problem. I have no doubt I can modify it from there and make it look nice, I'm just not certain where exactly to locate the K&N filter. I want it in a relatively low moisture area and I assume dust and dirt must also be considered? IF the 2001 intake works I'll take it to my buddy who can fabricate something from there, I just hope this intake fits. Like I said I've allready spent $40, which isn't too bad... I also need to find a cover or whatever it is that many folks put around the filter? I assume the cover is to protect it from the heat?

Get an air hat from a 97 up. Use some pipe and clamps to run a cone filter down to where the old intake tube was. Cut and bend a piece of 1/16 in. aluminum sheet like in all the pics of intake setups to block the hot the fan blows off the engine.
