V6 or V8? Are you putting in a double roller timing chain, or just a cheap OEM one? That will make a difference. The tensioner is not stocked normally and usually has to be ordered. Part P5007709 from Mopar. For a double roller chain it is not really needed, but will add a little extra security. They started adding the tensioner to the 3.9 in later years in an effort to reduce the racket made by the timing chain, which was a problem on the V6s.
As far as I know auto zone doesnt sell the tensioner, but it is a factory mopar performance part.
The chain kit from autozone is two gears and a chain. The chain isnt really long. Think about it, it runs from your cam to your crank, they are only like 6-8 inches apart, and the chain travels on the two gears.

The tensioner is a mopar part. If you buy a cheap single row chain no use spending money on a tensioner. But if your spending money on good parts to get the most out of your engine, get the tensioner. It takes up the brake in slack out of the chain ,inproving timing accuracy. And all chains stretch a little. The more breakin slack the shorter the chain life. The double row chain that I put in my 360 went on real tight. After 5000 miles I pulled it and retorqued everything and fix a small leak in timing cover. The chain already had a little slack. And I had babyed it.[sm=icon_rofl.gif]
