Im new to this. But could anyone tell me what kind of transmission is in my 94 dakota? It has a 3.9 V6. Also would like to know where I could find a shift kit for it.

It's most likely an A500 transmission. B&M has a shift kit for it.

Look at the transmission pan. It is is pretty much square then its an A500. If there is a bulge in it under the dipstick, making it not so perfectly square, then its an A518. There is also a lip on the left side just above the pan. This is where the casting numbers are and factory part number.
