The fuel ratio on your motor is controlled by the computer.
When the engine is running in "closed loop" mode (i.e. basically, the engine warmed up), the air/fuel ratio is based largely upon readings from the oxygen sensors, IIRC.
Of course, things such as engine speed, and the readings from the MAP sensor effect this, as well.
You best bet is to retrieve codes and/or replace your oxygen sensor. Of course, bad readings from a MAP sensor could also cause the same effects, I believe.
(My aunt has a '92 LeBaron with a 3.0L V-6, and it runs rich, really rich. 14MPG city. It got 18MPG city 6 months ago.)

IIRC = if i remember correctly.
two steps:
retrieve codes (follow instructions on link provided above)
disconnect negative battery cable for about 30 minutes or so (or, disconnect when you get back for work, and reconnect the next morning).
Leaving the negative battery cable disconnected for about some number of minutes will reset the PCM, and force it to go thru "re-learn" mode. I can't say it will help anything, but it won't harm anything!
