my 93 dakota has a very strange idle issue.....when i stop the rpms will be at like 600ish or 800ish.it changes all the time.like it seems to run fine maybe a lil hesitation.i have changed the idle air control thing.any ideas on what might be causing this
My RPM's are slightly differant each time my truck idles (anywhere from 500-800 RPM). I would say this is probably normal, as long as it doesn't idle very high (like my friends Acura that would idle at 1,500 RPM at each startup, until you ran it down the block).
Jumpy idle is sometimes caused by a vacuum leak. Do you hear any hissing sounds under the hood? Also PVC valves that are old/clogged can cause poor idling.
i dont really hear any hissing sound....i recently just had an issuse with the vacum line to the egr vavle was unhooked or somethin.my uncle fixed it and didnt really explain much.
