Default O/D Lag (35-50 mph) before shifting

I have a 92 Dakota, 171K with a rebuilt transmission about 5K ago (BTW there's a 12 month / 12K warranty) and 7 months ago.
I had the trans. recheck, ATICA member shop, they say it's electrical problem. All fluids check out.

I'm thinking it's the o/d & ptu solenoid, but could it be the TPS (throttle position sensor)?

The shop mentioned it would be 4 hours for them to diagnose the problem with all the aftermarket (electrical) stuff that's been added. So, I've clean things up, removed the auto start/keyless entry that malfunctioned, and routed accessories from distribution box, and added separate fuse block for accessories.

Any idea?

Paul

Could it be the TPS, yes. I would kinda doubt it, though.
They should be able to do their electrical tests, and pressure tests, and find out what it is. Let us know what they find out.

Well I got it fixed. I replaced the TPS (because it was easy, and not too expensive). But that didn't solve the problem.

It was the speed sensor. Once replaced, over-drive & my cruise control worked just fine. I had oil sensor replaced (it was leaking), right rear axle seal replaced (just starting - again - to leak), and a seized U-joint in the main driveshaft (just in front of the differential).

You might have a hard time believing this, but I paid over $1000.00 for the work in Wyoming, Minnesota at the Chrsyler dealer. Their labor rate is $120/hr (that's even $9 more per hour than a dealer in Manhattan, NY).

I think they took advantage of the situation (out-of-state plates & address, working in the area). I called the Dealer Gen. Mgr and shared my survey results of other dealer labor rates in WI (just north of Chicago area), and the Manhattan dealership.

All he had to say is, that's our rate.

Next time I'll wait for the estimate (even if it means missing a half day of work).
