Default will a 97 dakota transmission fit on a 93

PLEASE HELP!!! does anyone know if a 97 dakota transmission will fit a 93 dakota, a hairpin bairing broke in my tourqe converter and now I have metal fragments in my tranny fluid so I have to replace my tranny,

Maybe. What transmission is in your Dakota and what transmission is in the other Dakota?

Also, post the engines and if they are 4x4 or 4x2.

The mounting tabs may be different. However - the bigger problem is the 97 is an RE - electronically controlled transmission. Yours is an RH - hydraulics. I do not think the two will interchange without a complete harness/pcm swap, etc. The RE uses solenoids to control the oil pressure in the tranny, unlike the older ones, and the PCM controls it. The internals are the same though - bands, clutches, etc.
