Some opinions please
I found a 2wd regular cab short bed dakota with the 2.5L 4 cylinder and a 5 speed for sale within a reasonable distance of my home. I want something that's going to be fuel efficient because I'm going to be starting a new job that will require a lot of driving. The only reason I need a pickup is for those household chores and to haul my quad (raptor 660).
Will the little 4 banger have enough juice? What kind of mileage do they get? Also, are there any common problems I should look for if I go look at it?
Thanks everyone.

The first owner of the 88 2.2 Dak that I have used the truck to pull a bobcat trailer from site to site .He first trashed the gears in the 7.25 diff and just replaced them. Then he trashed the 5 speed and he sold it to me .The 2.2 still ran like a top even with 237,000 KM on it. The 2.5 has a 4.00 stroke in it like a big block .So don't try and make he screem and it should last a long time.
Well, I'm going to go look at it tomorrow. I guess we'll see!
My only concern is that it's got enough power to get out of it's own way. As long as it can haul my tools from site to site and haul my Raptor I'll be happy... all while giving good MPG of course.
