Default Dakota Fuel Problem Please Help!!!

I have a 1992 Dakota 3.9L auto i was having problems with the fuel draining back to the fuel tank when it sat overnight when i would go to start it it would go click click click click then it would start... I was told it was the fuel pump so i replaced it and it is still doing it the truck had a code 32 which was the egr valve i replaced it and it is still doing it does anyone have any idea what would allow the fuel to drain back when it sits over night or for several hours?

please help!!![][&o]

When you start it and it "clicks", you are keeping the key in the "start" position the whole time, right (for example: your not holding it to "start" hear a single click, turn it back off, and than to "start" again)?
Where does the clicking come from? If you can have a friend turn it over while you are looking underneath the hood to try and pin-point where the noise comes from.

Basically, I would have to say the "clicking" is probably not a lack-of-fuel or any fuel issue, because if it wasn't getting fuel, it would just keep turning over and not go into a self-contained run, so the clicking is probably something else.

ok when i go to start the truck it won't its like it is starving for fuel... but with the key turned to the on not holding it...it will start click click click click fast then it slows down the noise is coming from under the hood on the drivers side but once the clicking stops i can start the truck and it will run fine all day... then when i let it sit overnight i have to go through the same process every morning...its like the fuel is draining back... i don't know i am at a loss

When you turn the key to "ON" (not "START") do you hear a slight noise coming from the rear driver side for a second or two? If you do, thats the fuel pump, and you should hear it. If you do NOT hear it when you first go out to the truck, but you DO hear it AFTER you are able to start the truck (after the clicking and whatnot is over), I would say the fuel pump relay is bad. You can try switching it with another known-goood relay (not the automatic shutdown relay [which is used to provide power to the ignition coil which in turn provides juice for the spark plugs] or the starter relay) and see if that solves the problem. If so, its the relay.
If not, It could be a case of the troublesome splice that effected these years. See the Gen 1 FAQs for some more information. (See "Truck will not start").
