i have a 93 3.9 liter dakota with a 146,000 miles on it...its throwing code 52.what does that mean and how do i fix it

 

Code 52 means fuel system is rich. (A rich air/fuel mixture has been indicated by an abnormally lean correction factor).

It could be the oxygen sensor, or the map (manifold absolute pressure) sensor (or associated wiring).

 

alright,thanks i have the o2 to put on it.ill put it on tommorow and see if it helps.any suggestions on puting it on

 

I hear their pretty much a pain to take out (I can atest to that, I tried once to get one out, never could). When putting the new one in, put a good amount of anti-sieze on the threads (be very careful to not get any on other parts of the sensor!).
