Emergency brakes stuck on
I recently had someone borrow my truck and they fell the need to use the emergeny brakes which I never use and now I cant get them to release even tho the emg pedal is coming back up when I pull the handle. How can I release them?
You will probably need to get into the drums and take apart the parking brake stuff.
I've heard of this happening (on every vehicle my grandpa gets one of the first things he does is cut the cable to prevent that from happening).
Which reminds me, I need to fix my parking brake.

Thanks for your service to this country. Even some of us young people appreciate what those who came before us have done. [sm=americanasmiley.gif]
Don't cut the cable!!!!--the problem is in the leads going into the backing plate on the drums. I had the same exact situation with mine. The cables rust inside the leader tubes and hang there because the return spring isn't strong enough to pull them back out. I ended up rebuilding both sides on mine. The hardest part is getting the drums off. The kits needed can be purchased from Autozone or the like type of auto parts store.
