Default headliner removal

My headliner is sagging pretty bad and just wanted to know how to go about removing it. Then which glue is the best to use on it. I was going to buy the 3m glue they sell at Walmart.

I know water is going in cause I can hear it in there after it rains. So do the apillars just pop off or do then slide our a certain way? As well as the panels in the back. I ask cause I don't want to break anything trying to figure it out. I did a search but didn't bring up what I was looking for.

Default RE: headliner removal

hey everyone...i just did mine about a month ago...this is what i did...

take your pillar trim off and your trim around the doors, after that you need to to take out your dome light and your sun visors. Now when removing the actual headliner its a bit tricky but it comes out in an angle...standard cab might be a little easier to remove the seat, but thats up to you, i have a ext cab so it might be a little easier for you single cab guys...when removing the old headliner, you need to pull the fabric off first, then take a putty knife or something along those lines and scrap the old foam off..do not go into the actual fiberglass, any imperfections or wholes you make will show up when you put the new one on. The cheapest way to get headliner is to go a fabric store...joanne fabric, hancock something along thise lines it is usually 8 bucks a yard. Ask for headliner material, they have it in different colors. 3m makes a headliner glue or use a heavy duty spray adhesive. Make sure you dont get heavy withthe glue, spray the fiberglass board and the new headliner what a few minutes then put them together, trim and let it sit for at least 1 hour, after that put it in and put all your trim in...

any questions let me know, i am a pretty good headliner installer...
hope it helps guys
