Default Voltage and Transmission Problems?

Is there any relationship between low voltage and the transmission that came in the 5.2L Magnum `92 Dakota with A/T and OD? Right now the alternator is not charging the battery and what not was wondering if that would have any affect on the way the transmission shifts.

If the voltage drops far anough the converter will not stay locked and it will not stay in O/D.The ignition will get weak and the torque won't be there to shift 1-2-3 properly.

I do not have a 92 dodge computer .Each type of computer has a different drop out voltage. For some it is between 11 and 12 volts. Others can all most make it to 8 volts before they die .
