siphoning gas tank on 95 Dakota
I need to replace my fuel pump, but have almost a full tank of gas. I was going to siphon the tank but can only get the hose in as far as the tank and then it stops like something is in the way. Does anyone know if there is a screen or something that keeps a siphoning hose from entering the tank?
With a full tank of fuel... I would pull the bed off and do it that way. Way easier than dropping a full tank of fuel.
Bed mount bolts
unplug tail light pigtails
Screws in gas cap door
and then remove or just slide back
I haven't done it on my Dak yet, but I have done it on several of my past trucks and it is pretty much the same with all of them.

Yeah, I've read that option and thought about going that route but notice a metal protection plate under my gas tank and two of the brackets that hold it on look like they go up next to the drive shaft and connect to the bed, so If I can't get to them to disconnect, I don't think I can lift the bed.
Thanks

I have used an auxillary electrical fuel pump hooked up under the hood to the supply line and pulled the fuel out of the tank that way... I don't know about the fuel pumps on the Daks, but I don't see why it would be different.
