96 trying to replace the heater core. How the hell do you get to it. Im losing my mind. Someone in here has had to have done it before?

I did it on my 99. you have to take the whole dash out, its a PITA to do. it took me a weekend just taking my time.

Why are you replacing the heater core? If it leaking coolant into your cab, then you will want to replace it. If you are just not getting hot air, try flushing the heater core. Follow the link below to see heater core flush instructions.

Nahh...it was leaking. I finally found a thread on here with pics...real pita....i am going to work on it this weekend and finish it up. I gotta have heat for when i drop my daughter off in the mornings

can someone thats done it help me out. Do i need to completely remove the whole black box or can i get the top off of it and drop it in? If i do have to take out the box how do i get it out. I see that it bolts thru the firewall
