94 dakota w/blown motor

Default 94 dakota w/blown motor

i've got a 94 dakota with a blown motor and am trying to find one for a reasonable price. what i need to know is will a 97 or newer motor work in my truck without having to change the computer and all that stuff? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank's again, Alex

I know for a fact that the wiring is different. what motor do you have. V6 or V8. im not an expert on wiring buy I would believe you will need a motor from 91-95.

how bad is your motor. can you rebuild it?

He might/should be able to use a newer motor, basically anything from 1992 on up (when they introduced the Magnum motors which use multi-point fuel injection versus throttle body fuel injection or a carb)
For the most part, the wiring from his Dakota should be able to mount right up to a motor out of a newer Dakota, providing its the same size motor.

it's a 3.9, and no i don't think i can rebuild it i threw a rod through the block.

A little bit of duck tape and epoxy... you can have that block fixed back up to new!!!
