Something I have never heard of before.
I was out shopping for a small to medium sized truck for my son today (he turns 16 next month) and I found a 93 dakota with 73,000 miles on it. However, the salesman told me that the truck would only start with the left turn signal on. He said that if you tried to start it without the signal on, it would not start and the horn would blow. I figured that it must be some kind of after market security system, but he told me that it was a normal feature of this model. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
Not a factory feature... it is an added line of anti-theft security. A few years back I had it on one of the lincoln TCs I had... I know use the switch on the emergency brake to signal the igntion interupt. By using the blinker, anyone outside can see you use your blinker everytime you start it, but the hand brake/ parking brake lever doesn't light up any lights on the outside of the vehicle.
It isn't a gremlin... allthough, they do have some of those installed atthe factory. LOL
Later Daze,
